Financing the Future: Banking for Sustainable Growth

Message from ABA Chairman

Dear Members and Friends,

On behalf of the Asian Bankers Association (ABA), it is my distinct honor to welcome you to the 41 ABA General Meeting and Conference, taking place September 15–16, 2025, in the serene and culturally rich setting of Dungkar Dzong in Paro, Bhutan. Whether you are a first-time attendee or a longtime participant, we are truly grateful for your presence and continued engagement.

As Chairman of ABA, I would also like to extend my sincere gratitude to Bank of Bhutan for graciously hosting this year’s conference. Our thanks go as well to our sponsors, members, and partners, whose steadfast support makes this annual gathering possible.

With membership spanning the Asia-Pacific and beyond, ABA remains a vital, member-driven platform for dialogue, collaboration, and shared growth. In an increasingly complex financial landscape, our mission—to foster meaningful connections, advocate for member interests, and promote regional business opportunities—has never been more relevant.

This year’s conference theme, “Financing the Future: Banking for Sustainable Growth,” underscores our shared commitment to shaping a resilient, inclusive, and future-ready financial landscape.
Through focused discussions on the digital transformation of sustainable banking, technological advancements in customer and employee engagement, innovations in cross-border payments, and the evolving regulatory environment, the conference seeks to foster greater synergy, identify and address gaps, and strengthen institutional capacity. We look forward to welcoming you to Bhutan for what promises to be a rewarding and thought-provoking exchange of ideas.

Mr. Daniel Wu
Chairman, ABA
